Connectivity and digitisation are transforming the automotive sector and customer relations, according to expert Gabriel Cabezas at Deloitte. The consultant has prepared a reporton the maturity of the automotive industry for digital clients, which highlights four major trends that will directly affect customer relations and the customer experience.

The automotive sector and the many SMEs that operate as auxiliary companies are a segment for which digitisation and industry 4.0 are an absolute obligation. Many of the developments that will be on display at MATELEC INDUSTRY will be applicable in this sector.

The trends that will directly affect customer relations and experiences, according to Deloitte, are the following: new technologies in propulsion systems, interest in the use of alternative energies and regulations to encourage the use of the electric cars as aspects that are influencing already in this industry.

As well as these trends, they underline a further two factors:  changing preferences in terms of mobility, where speed and savings are becoming more important than vehicle ownership; and progress in the development of technologies that will allow the use of safe, reliable autonomous cars in the future.

However, it will be  connectivity, which will allow development of vehicles connected infrastructures and the entry of technology  players in the industry, which will completely transform it.
